Ray Eberle Scholarship
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” Victor Hugo
Imagine our world without music … without the deep emotion that comes from artful expression. No hum. No single note. Our world would be empty.
Thankfully, music is a miracle that lives on.
I’m Jan Eberle, your host of Swing Museum. I know there is no tougher job than paying for a great education in music. So, in 2006, I created a scholarship for college youth with my father, Ray Eberle, as benefactor. Along with the Glenn Miller Scholarship Foundation, the Ray Eberle Scholarship has raised thousands of dollars for those students who have chosen music as their main study. Our dream is to continue increasing the scholarship award in value … who knows how many music greats of tomorrow we can assist?
If you are interested in making a private or corporate donation, please send a check or money order payable to:

On behalf of the Ray Eberle Family, we thank you for sharing our dream.
34th Annual Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition
Clarinda’s Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is offering scholarships of $4,500, $2,000 & $1,000 to instrumentalists. The vocal scholarships will also be $4,500, $2,000 & $1,000. These scholarships, which are awarded without regard to any other award, may be used for any education-related expense.
It is not the purpose of this competition to select Glenn Miller look-alikes or sound-alikes, nor is it limited to pop music performance. Rather, in honoring Glenn, we wish to seek out and assist promising young talents in any field of applied music who may be musical leaders of tomorrow.

Each entry must include a specific statement that the applicant intends to make music performance or teaching a central part of her/his future life, accompanied by a statement of the manner in which the applicant plans to proceed in this direction. • Sight read selections of the judge's choice.
